About This Role
The Senior Electrical Engineer, Plant is responsible for support of plant systems at a site with multiple GMP facilities and non-GMP areas, as well as serving in a technical leadership role on a diverse Plant Engineering team of 5 to 10 Engineers. The role requires involvement in capital and operational projects including design, commissioning, FAT and SAT testing as well as support for construction and installation of plant utility equipment required for new processing equipment installations and modifications to existing equipment. Position requires the ability to lead multi-function teams to implement change and improve on existing engineering design, construction, and commissioning processes. The ideal candidate can manage small to medium engineering projects with little direction including working with and providing direction to contractors.
What You’ll Do
- Identify and lead equipment related projects, capital projects, and modifications for primarily Electrical infrastructure and equipment.
- Maintain personal training, goal development / completion, compliance workflow tracking, & progress tracking
- Provide Project Management and execution for small to large Opex projects
- Lead startup & executes commissioning for new and modified systems
- Act as a technical SME involved in long term site planning activities including reliability and efficiency improvements

Are you a technical SME in a wide range of Plant Engineering systems, with effective communication, and collaboration across multiple organizations as well as a proven ability to influence cross functionally to assure objectives are met? Are you someone who can suggest standard practices, processes, and procedures? Participate in key strategic initiatives and identify potential improvements for utility and electrical facility systems? Ensure robust implementation of improvements?
Qualifications
Required Skills
Engineer I
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering with 3+ years in pharmaceutical or biotech manufacturing or related environment
- Master’s or advanced educational degree in Engineering with 1+ years in pharmaceutical or biotech manufacturing environment.
Engineer II
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering with 5+ years in pharmaceutical or biotech manufacturing or related environment
- Master’s or advanced educational degree in Engineering with 3+ years in pharmaceutical or biotech manufacturing environment.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with MCC (Motor Control Center installation, troubleshooting), High Voltage Switchgear and transformers (480V and higher), site master planning High and Medium Voltage capacity planning and implementation.
- Familiarity with operation and troubleshooting of PLC (Programmable Logic Controllers) automation and electrical systems.
- Plant engineering experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry supporting any of the following systems; air handlers (GMP and non-GMP), water systems, clean steam systems, and clean gas systems.
- Experience with non-GMP utility systems including steam, chilled water, glycol or water treatment systems
- Experience with documentation requirements for GMP manufacturing facilities including Change Control and Validation systems.
