RESEARCH SCIENTIST/ENGINEER, McGovern Institute for Brain Research-Senseable Intelligence Group, to tackle challenging problems at the intersection of brain science, neuroinformatics, and machine learning. Will join world-class neuroscientists and cognitive scientists in consortial projects to create novel approaches for knowledge extraction and representation, develop new ways of conducting collaborative and reproducible neuroscience research, work with scientific communities to design new and efficient data formats for TB-PB scale data, design algorithms to solve learning problems, and disseminate new findings and research.  The position offers an opportunity to have a strong voice in driving new directions of research and infrastructure development to support open science.  

 

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: terminal degree (Ph.D.) in computer science, computational neuroscience, or related area; experience developing and implementing large-scale software architectures; experience with high-performance cluster computing and/or cloud computing at scale; experience with software engineering and publishing and building user-friendly interfaces; willingness to work with domain scientists; commitment to and experience with open science practices; and experience with data management tools that facilitate reproducible science.  

PREFERRED: background in neuroscience and cognitive science, experience with deep learning toolkits, experience with neuroimaging and/or neurophysiology, experience analyzing big data and high-speed I/O programming, experience with ontologies and vocabulary development.  Job #21438
