About the Job
The Lin Lab is dedicated to understanding mechanisms of myelin disorders and neurodegenerative diseases using genetically engineered mouse models. The candidate will assist the Principal Investigator, Postdoctoral Associates, or students in the lab by managing mouse colony, performing experiments, analyzing recorded data, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance, and maintaining laboratory supplies.
20% – Laboratory upkeep, ordering laboratory supplies, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.
80% – Assist the Principal Investigator, Postdoctoral Associates, or students in the lab by managing mouse colony, performing experiments, analyzing recorded data.

Qualifications
All required qualifications must be documented on application materials
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in biological sciences with basic knowledge in genetics, biochemistry, molecular biology, and neuroscience, or a combination of related education and relevant work experience to total 4 years, or the anticipated completion of a bachelor’s degree by Summer 2021.
- The ability to accurately record experiments in lab notebooks
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1-3 years of experience as a lab technician (full or part time).
- Experience with mouse colony management and immunocytochemistry.
- Experience with laboratory and administrative tasks, including lab ordering and compliance.
- Demonstrated ability to work as an effective member of a team.
- Demonstrated good time management, written/verbal communication, multi tasking, and interpersonal skills.
