Based in Mountain View, CA., NeuroPace is a commercial-stage medical device company focused on transforming the lives of people suffering from epilepsy by reducing or eliminating the occurrence of debilitating seizures. Its novel and differential RNS System is the first and only commercially available, brain-responsive platform that delivers personalized, real-time treatment at the seizure source.

We are currently seeking a Senior Systems Administrator to join our team. This individual is responsible for establishing/evaluating/improving appropriate systems and management processes.  They will also be the lead administrator for our virtualized infrastructure: Office 365, disaster recovery, backup solutions, system administration, upgrades, patching, and monitoring.  They should be able to demonstrate exceptional critical thinking, systems analysis, and breadth of technology capabilities along with excellent problem-solving skills. This is a HYBRID position and this individual must be able to commute to the Mountain View office a few days a week.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor all installed systems and infrastructure
  • Install, configure, test, and maintain operating systems, virtual environments, application software and system management tools
  • Proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability, including ownership of backup, disaster recovery, and other redundancy strategies.
  • Write and maintain custom scripts to increase system efficiency and lower the human intervention time on any tasks
  • Provide 2nd and 3rd level support and provide technical direction to support staff, including documentation and training
  • Liaise with vendors, management, and IT personnel for problem resolution
  • Maintain security standards consistent with requirements of law, regulation, and policy, including HIPAA
  • Successful completion of required compliance related training within prescribed timelines
  • Communicate well and fluidly using text-based forms of communication (Email, SMS, IM)
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Requirements

  • Experience with Microsoft Windows server/workstation environment administration
  • Linux Systems Administration
  • VMware vSphere 7 and VCenter (Must be able to perform upgrades, patch management and other maintenance tasks)
  • Storage technologies and connectivity (BLOCK, NFS, RAID, NAS)
  • Firm grasp of DNS, DHCP, and VPN management
  • Experience configuring, maintaining, and using certificates
  • Email/Exchange/Outlook/SMTP in a hybrid O365 environment
  • Manage M365 products and services, including Azure AD and Exchange in a hybrid environment
  • Manage AWS environments including security and management
  • Better than average grasp of networking equipment, topologies, limits, and functions
  • Experience with configuring system imaging, and patching
  • Experience with Backup, BCP/DR solutions and architecture
  • SAML, MFA, and other modern authentication techniques
  • Administer third party services and products, including Mimecast and Okta
  • Experience with disaster recovery solutions and testing

 

Experience

  • Bachelor’s in CS or related degree, with 5 years in a System Administration role
  • Experience with compliance, audits, in the med-tech industry (Optional but desired)
  • Experience with ITIL/ITSM systems (Optional but desired)
  • Desired certifications: MCSE, CCNP, O365, M365
