Summary of position: 

The Eating Disorders Continuum (EDC) at the Douglas Institute, CIUSSS Ouest de l’Ile de Montreal, is Quebec’s only large-scale, supraregional clinical-research-teaching program in Eating Disorders (EDs). Having a province-wide mandate, the EDP serves as a main hub in the effort to care for Quebecers with EDs — and a centre of clinical and research expertise. The Eating Disorders Continuum is seeking to hire a Research Assistant who will contribute to clinical research conducted within its research program. Areas of activity in this program include studies on neurobiology (especially genetics and epigenetics), treatment and treatment outcome.

 

Description of tasks: 

The Research Assistant participates in subject recruitment and screening, data entry, cleanup and management, literature searches, management of data records, transport of biological samples, and instructing research participants in completion of required tasks, questionnaires, consent forms, etc.

 

Required qualifications: Bachelor`s degree in health sciences or a related field. Background knowledge of psychopathology; previous experience in a laboratory conducting clinical research in humans.

Required skills: Previous training in statistics, and basic ability to work with software packages such as SPSS, Excel, Power Point.

Required abilities: Good oral and written communication skills; well-organized; good social skills; detail-oriented; fully bilingual in English and French

Location of work: Eating Disorders Outpatient Clinic (6603-05 Lasalle Blvd)

Work schedule: Full time (35 hours/week), Monday to Friday

Salary:  In accordance with the Douglas salary range, depending on experience and qualifications.
