2-Years Post Doc Position for Retinal Neurodegeneration Research

Postdoctoral candidates are encouraged to apply to Feligioni’s Lab for a fully 2-year position to study retinal neuroprotection in glaucoma.

The principal investigator, who has extensive experience in pre-clinical neurodegeneration research, runs his laboratory at the EBRI Foundation in Rome (IT), an internationally renowned brain research centre founded in 2005 by Nobel laureate Prof Rita Levi- Montalcini.

The appointee will be engaged in a pre-clinical project, mainly in-vivo but also in- vitro experiments, knowledge of biochemistry, immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence (confocal microscopy), cell and molecular biology techniques is required.

• Only candidates with a solid background in glaucoma mice models (IOP increase, magnetic beads injection, ONC, etc) will be taken in consideration.
• Experiences with visual field behavioral tests is a plus.

Application that doesn’t meet the glaucoma mice model knowledge will not be taken into consideration.

• Applicants should possess good interpersonal and organisational skills, and proficiency in written and spoken English.
• He/She will also provide training to junior researchers, and perform other duties as assigned.

Salary up to 30000 euro/year gross, depending on experience
