Full time
Solid State of Mind is currently seeking a talented, motivated, and creative individual to join us as an FPGA Designer. You will be part of an interdisciplinary team that is currently integrating recent advances in cognition, neuroscience, machine learning and microelectronics to build an autonomous artificial intelligence.
The successful candidate will research and deploy state of the art and leading-edge AI technologies and will get the opportunity to work with the machine learning team.
Key responsibilities:
- Research, design and implement machine learning algorithms on FPGAs
- Extract and analyse the hardware resources required to run such algorithms
- Write robust and version-controlled code
- Create internal and comprehensive documentation
- Collaborate with the machine learning team for the design of the different AI modules
- Experiment with real-world data to validate, evaluate and improve the implementation of the algorithms
- Contribute to a collaborative and stimulating work environment
- Be active in the AI community of Montréal and elsewhere to find new possibilities for collaboration and to bring new ideas
Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience designing using VHDL/RTL/Verilog/C/C++ on FPGAs
- Knowledge and experience in Deep Learning and Reinforcement Learning is required
- Bachelor in computer or electrical engineering, or in a related field
- MSc of PhD in computer or electrical engineering is a plus
- Experience with video systems and video processing algorithms, and high-speed memory and bus Interfaces
- Experience with Xilinx Vivado/HLS
- Experience on UNIX/LINUX based systems
- Creative, open-minded, strong sense of responsibility
- Excellent communication skills
