Job Summary
The IT Data & Analytics team is seeking a BI (Business Intelligence) Principal Solution Engineer I to join us and serve as a Subject Matter Expert to our Business Intelligence Solutions. A person in this role will be responsible for architecting new product offerings, designing, developing evaluating and documenting data and our business Intelligence systems. You will also lead a technical team, work tightly with the business and be responsible for translating business requirements into technical requirements. In this role you will leverage our data assets to deliver business intelligence and analytical solutions that drive the company’s strategic objectives.
Job Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership and direct the work of other developers
- Research and develop Data sets & models for data analysis
- Communicate results and ideas with key decision makers
- Build and optimize Power BI Models that are scalable.
- Extend company data with third party sources of information when needed
- Enhance data collection procedures to include information that is relevant for building analytic systems
- Process, cleanse, and verify the integrity of data used for analysis
- Implement Power BI row Level Security including Dynamic roles.
- Performing ad-hoc analysis and present results in a clear manner
- Design and develop scalable, efficient data pipeline processes to handle data assimilation, cleansing, transformation, integration, and validation
- Document and test analytic processes including performance and thorough data validation and verification
- Collaborate with cross functional team to resolve data quality and operational issues and ensure timely delivery of products
- Leverage existing data sets and engineer new data sets including development of SQL queries, data integration, and resolution of data quality issues
- Use database query tools and statistical, analytical, and visualization software to extract, manipulate, analyze, interpret, and visualize data trends and patterns and uncover insights
Qualifications
What we’re looking for
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Informational systems, Analytical Science, or other related fields
- Experience in SQL, Power Query, Report Development & DAX is required.
- 6+ years of Business Intelligence experience and 3+ years strong experience in Microsoft Power Platform – Power BI (required), Power Apps, Automate, Flow strongly preferred
- Experience in SQL Server Reporting Services or equivalent report development tool is necessary
- Experience with Azure Data Databricks Interactive Notebooks preferred
- Experience with data science methods related to classification analysis, clustering analysis, and forecasting & prediction is preferable.
- Experience with NoSQL databases such as HBase or equivalent would be preferred.
- Above average attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational, interpersonal, and team-oriented skills
- Must be a self-starter and be willing to take accountability for projects, problems, and issues
- Ability to perform several tasks simultaneously while meeting deadlines is necessary
- Effective verbal and written communication and presentation skill
