As an IT Project Manager, you are responsible for managing systems and infrastructure projects within Illingworth Research group, as well as having a hands-on role in the planning, designing, and execution of those projects. The systems project manager is responsible for coordinating the project team assignments, providing regular updates to all stakeholders and monitoring progress against the work plan to assure that objectives are met. You must demonstrate effective leadership skills with an ability to manage non-direct reports and an ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while leading each to successful and timely completion
Responsibilities:
- Apply technical and project management expertise while leading cross-functional resources to meet project requirements within established timeframes and budgets
- Interface with department heads, operational project managers and both internal and contract IT professionals. Comfortably work with colleagues across the organization across various geographies
- Analysis of problems, development, and realisation of solutions: coordinate the gathering of requirements to define the scope and deliverables of a project in collaboration with all internal and external stakeholders. Ensure a common understanding by setting expectations in accordance with the project plan, aligning the stakeholders and team members
- Development of functional system requirement and specifications: quantifies and articulates desired outcomes and measurements
- Identifies appropriate resources needed, and develops a schedule to ensure timely completion of projects focusing on targeted outcomes
- Provide and maintain detailed project documentation including but not limited to project definition, roadmaps and project, change management, risk management and validation plans
- Provide expertise and support to project managers across operational teams and aid in the development of project governance within the organisation
- Schedule, organize, prepare material for, and document all project meetings/reviews
Qualifications
Job Requirements:
- Qualification to degree level, within technology related discipline or equivalent experience
- 3+ year experience successfully managing projects of various sizes
- PMP, PRINCE 2, PMI-ACP or another relevant project management certification desirable
- Experience working with Salesforce desirable
- Experience of being responsible for critical processes and tasks
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks through good time management and organisational skills, with the ability to work independently or as part of a team and deliver to multiple, tight deadlines
- Strong verbal and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to establish rapport with stakeholders, gathering information, providing project updates and assist in training new users
- Accuracy and attention to detail and ability to systematically analyse complex problems
- A good awareness of the practices within the Clinical/Medical Research and
- Pharmaceutical industry (including GCP)
- Strong technical skills including knowledge of client and server operating systems, and understanding of network infrastructure concepts and practices
- A strong understanding of the Office 365 Enterprise (or equivalent) applications and the software/systems used within the business; the ability to learn quickly and use initiative
