Job Description
You will be responsible for providing product marketing leadership to assure the attainment of business objectives, including developing long-range strategic plans, annual marketing plans and product roadmaps for Cognixion products. You will be responsible for understanding the market drivers and stakeholder needs, leveraging both internal and external sources. You will serve as the voice of the customer on product development teams, identifying product priorities and marketing insights in order to gain maximum ROI from each product investment.
Responsibilities:
- Engage directly with the market to identify product opportunities, features needs and other product strategy elements.
- Understand market and technology drivers and create multi-year strategic business growth plans and a robust product roadmap to drive alignment on strategy with Sr. Leadership and cross-functional peers
- Translate the business goals to strategic plans and financial models that will drive revenues to meet financial performance expectations as well as defining and tracking success metrics.
- Develop and present detailed product marketing plans to support recommendations for new and redesigned strategic products and business advancement opportunities.
- Secure stakeholder approvals and resources to execute on product strategy.
- Work with the Insights Director to construct well-defined customer requirements documents with prioritized features based on stakeholder and market needs to support the New Product Development process.
- Provide feature prioritization to engineering teams, providing epic and sprint priorities, ensuring user stories are representative of the customer voice and serving as the customer representative in product development teams.
- Work with Downstream Marketing and Growth Team define overall product marketing, timing and positioning strategy plans for introducing new products into the market.
- Collaborate with cross functional teams such as Human Factors, Clinical and Downstream Marketing to receive early and frequent customer feedback on new product ideas and features via the Braniac program, Focus Groups and Usability Studies
- Develop value propositions, market positioning, clinical/ economic evidence, and white paper strategy
- Working with Downstream Marketing and the Growth Team, develop the commercialization strategy, launch timing, limited market release and sales and distribution plans fit overall product roadmaps and strategic goals.
- Provide product expertise to Downstream Marketing in the development of Instructions for Use, stakeholder messaging, competitive messaging / claims, sales training and communications, and customer training and communications.
- Present product information to internal and external individuals and groups in a variety of public and private contexts.
- Develop, encourage, and maintain market and key relationships to assure relevant product development feedback, product input, validation, and market dynamics necessary for segmentation adoption and product positioning
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or technical degree with significant business/product management experience (MBA preferred)
- 10-15 years of experience related to customer facing new product development and product launches in a medical device/technical setting
- Ability to inspire cross-functional teams with a clear vision and strategy to win the market.
- Strong device business acumen, strategic thinking, commercial focus, and customer skills.
- High EQ; ability to understand and empathize with others, maintain their cool under pressure and ability to remain objective
- Experience in managing a portfolio of medical device/technical products.
- Experienced in developing annual and long-term marketing plans.
- Demonstrated success defining and launching customer facing, medical products.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communications skills.
- Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority.
- Experience in a smaller, fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
- Travel 20-30% of the time
