Position Summary:
With a focus on driving learning beyond the classroom, the Learning & Development Program Manager, Technology and Systems role acts as a business partner to Inspire’s technology and engineering business units. This position uses a consultative approach in working with leaders to determine learning needs, optimize training for new hires, and support software, digital technology product launch, and systems enhancement training for all employees. This role is responsible for ensuring training remains current and relevant within the rapidly changing technology landscape.
Main Duties/Responsibilities:
- Assess and Evaluate
- Conduct initial assessments to understand learning needs and determine priorities for new and existing employee training.
- Continuously monitor changing industry and Inspire software system updates and releases to keep current on advancements and enhancements; collaborate with managers to determine associated learning needs.
- Analyze learner feedback and other data to continue to refine training outcomes.
- Determine methodology to provide training progress reports to functional area managers.
- Develop and Deliver
- Establish trust and build strong relationships with business unit leaders and subject matter experts.
- Plans and implements all learning & development activities related to software, digital technology, and engineering initiatives, including proficiency assessments, in collaboration with subject matter experts.
- Develop learning paths and content in alignment with defined learning needs.
- Buy: Source vendors and external experts to meet defined learning needs
- Build: Design or redesign robust online and in-person courses internally
- Deliver training as needed
- Coordinate
- Coordinate all aspects of training delivery, including scheduling, promotion, deployment, and session facilitation as needed.
- Use Inspire’s LMS to manage course deployment & reporting for the functional area.
- Align all course development and deployment to the L & D infrastructure.
- Quality System
- Document product and therapy related field reports within the prescribed timelines and provide any necessary documents required to complete the investigation. Provide follow-up reporting as needed.
- Complete training requirements and competency confirmations as required for this position within the required timeline.
- Comply with applicable quality system procedures/policies and make suggestions for continuous process improvement.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent in training and work experience in areas related to technical communications, information systems, software development, engineering, or other technical field
- Master’s degree preferred
- 7 or more years’ experience in program management and/or training in IS/IT/Software technology or other related systems and engineering environments
- Demonstrated aptitude for software and technology; able to readily grasp relevant technical terminology and processes
- Demonstrated strong planning, project management and problem-solving skills
- Ability to maintain current product and systems knowledge
- Demonstrated understanding of learning design and adult learning theory.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to simplify complex concepts
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office software and apps
- Intermediate presentation software and eLearning development tools
- Ability to effectively give presentations and train others as needed
- Experience in a medical device or regulated industry preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Strong Interpersonal skills with the demonstrated ability to build trust and develop & maintain collaborative working relationships
- Demonstrate initiative and exercise good judgement (e.g, in starting tasks, asking questions, identifying, and discussing problems, ability to structure own work, stay on task)
- Ability to prioritize and adapt to changing priorities
