US Field Clinical Manager

The Field Clinical Manager (FCM) is knowledgeable in the use of CVRx technology for various therapeutic applications and serves as an important resource to the organization.  This position will support site activation and patient recruitment at sites participating in CVRx clinical research in the US.  This position is also responsible for supporting protocol and technical aspects, and education for clinical research studies in the US.  The FCM may have responsibility for building and managing a US field team to ensure adequate field support for all clinical research studies, as needed.

 

Responsibilities

  • Maintains an understanding of complex physiological and technical principles pertaining to CVRx technologies and therapies.
  • Supporting field activities for clinical research, which includes:
    • Partners with all relevant individuals (e.g., principal investigators, surgeons, research coordinators) at clinical research sites to facilitate site activation, enrollments, eligibility, and follow-up visit compliance at clinical research sites.
    • Manages aspects related to Barostim System proctoring requirements for clinical research, including coordination of proctored implants and proctor training.
    • Supports training related to the clinical research, including the clinical protocol, implant procedure, programming, anesthesia, infection control, cadaver training, and proctoring logistics.
    • Supports implant training, implants and follow-up procedures and visits related to clinical research. Provides troubleshooting and other technical assistance to clinical trial sites and CVRx employees.
    • Provides support to physicians at clinical research sites, including responding to protocol questions, technical inquiries, and research solutions to questions or problems.
    • Provides on-call technical support as needed, troubleshooting, including in-service education and training physicians in one-on-one sessions, and delivers in-service education programs for hospital personnel and staff on technical matters relating to CVRx devices or studies.
    • As needed, builds and manages a US-based field team to support clinical studies.
  • Supports Clinical Research function to ensure high quality follow-up and completeness of data.
  • Represents CVRx, Inc. in front of leading cardiologists, Heart Failure, Hypertension Specialists, and Cardiac/Vascular surgeons to ensure their understanding of the therapy.
  • Provides R&D support through the communication of physician feedback on product enhancements or new product development ideas.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams on upstream and downstream marketing objectives and works with local sales and sales management teams to execute key strategies for market growth. 

 

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s of Science or other relevant college degree.
  • 8+ years of experience in medical device industry, academic, or clinical experience with medical devices.
  • Experience with products used for cardiology or cardiac surgery therapeutic devices.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively manage relationships with key customer groups and CVRx staff.
  • Ability to master concepts of a medical and surgical nature and that of active implantable medical device technology.
  • Independent, self-motivated, self-starter.
  • Experience with Good Clinical Practices and regulatory compliance guidelines for clinical trials.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Healthcare experience.
  • Experience working on cross-functional teams.

 

Preferred:

  • Advanced degree.
  • Experience with neuro systems/products/technologies
  • Knowledge of and experience with various surgical procedures and catheterization lab techniques.
  • Proven track record with clinical trial and technical training assignments.
  • Knowledge of market with clear understanding of competitive devices, strategies, and advantages/disadvantages as they relate to the company’s devices.
  • Ability to interact with R&D, representing customer perspective in order to provide input on product enhancements and new product development.

 

Working Conditions:

  • Normal office conditions.
  • Must be able to lift up to 10 lbs.
  • Ability to travel up to 80%.
  • Must be fully vaccinated per CDC guidance against the COVID-19 virus and willing to comply with pre-employment screening, including but not limited to reference verification and background check.
