Postdoctoral Research Scientist

(Baltimore MD Metro Area)

We are seeking a highly motivated candidate to pursue silent speech detection in ECoG subjects. This industry-sponsored position will be affiliated with our academic research partner in the Baltimore, MD area.

Core Responsibilities

• Collect and analyze ECoG signals during silent speech tasks
• Develop best-in-class decoders for online silent speech detection
• Prepare thorough on-time reports for sponsor deliverables

Qualifications

• Completed PhD in Neuroscience or related field
• Experience working on projects with focused goals, ambitious timelines, and defined milestones
• and deliverables; for instance, through prior work in industry or on sponsored research.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Research experience in one or more of the following areas:
  • Neural representations of speech (highly desired)
  • ECoG data collection and analysis
  • Online implementation of closed-loop BCI systems
• Available to begin position by September 2018 or earlier

Bonus Points

• Proficiency in Python
• Prior post-doctoral experience

Full-time support of this position is available for 15 months with potential for continuation.
