Recruiting for Editor-in-Chief

Milton Park, Abingdon       ·         Full time

About the role

We are looking for a new Editor-in-Chief with a well-established academic background in medical ethics or neuroscience to lead the editorial team of AJOB Neuroscience. Founded in 2010, AJOB Neuroscience provides a comprehensive resource for scholars, practitioners, and others interested in ethics and the brain sciences.

Operating in conjunction with the field-leading American Journal of Bioethics and AJOB Empirical Bioethics, AJOB Neuroscience’s goal is to inspire and inform research and writing across disciplines through target articles, peer commentary, book reviews, qualitative research, and other innovative formats. The journal is also supported by the Bioethicstoday.net website, which hosts a regular blog.

Becoming the Editor-in-Chief of a journal offers a rewarding and fulfilling experience where you will be responsible for driving the status and reputation of the journal forwards. It offers the opportunity to use and build upon your own networks to promote research that puts the journal at the forefront of its field.

The successful candidate will work with the Managing Editor to oversee the workflow of papers, including making final decisions on papers and assigning manuscripts to Associate Editors. They will also assist with the appointment of any new editorial board members and, more broadly, act as an ambassador for the journal.

AJOB Neuroscience also has an affiliation with the International Neuroethics Society (INS) and the Editor-in-Chief will be expected to help foster this connection.

The Journal utilises an online editorial office system to manage submissions via Scholar One.
