What We Do:
Calm’s communications team is working to lead the conversation around mental health. We are a highly cross-functional and collaborative team, developing work that expands what Calm is in the minds of consumers, employers and providers.
What You’ll Do:
As the Senior Manager, Consumer Communications, you will own the Global Consumer Communication strategy for Calm. As part of this scope, you will lead our US and International Communications for our consumer app and also our Product and Partnerships PR plans. In this highly collaborative role, you’ll work closely with Marketing, Partnerships, Content, Product, the Exec team and the broader PR team. You will develop creative programs to highlight Calm through content publicity, data and insights, culminating in positive earned media.
The ideal candidate will be a proven PR/Communications leader who leverages their expertise to build relationships with reporters and press outlets, develops strategic campaigns that bring awareness, engagement, and brand love to Calm, and finds unique ways to bring our message to life. They bring a creative approach to storytelling and are experienced in not only telling the story, but coming up with the right components to create it (i,e., research, partnerships, data, etc.) They are proactive and resourceful by nature, willing to work across teams to shape our external Calm Business narrative.
- Broaden the global awareness of mental wellness and Calm as its leading player
- Develop and execute a global Consumer Communications strategy to land high-impact stories for Calm in the US and internationally
- Execute communications and drive coverage in key media outlets that support product launches and partnership announcements
- Elevate Calm executives through proactive thought leadership including: bylines, award submissions, conferences and speaking engagements
- Maintain and build new relationships with key journalists, influencers, thought leaders and other industry stakeholders in mental health
- Manage agencies both domestic and international
- Mine with partners for cohesive content and storytelling opportunities
- Collaborate with cross functional teams to drive successful launches
Who You Are:
- 7-10 years experience with a focus on consumer and product communications
- Expertise in media relations and close relationships with consumer media
- Strong written communications with extremely strong attention to detail. You’re an excellent communicator and storyteller.
- Perspective ability, able to provide recommendations with supporting rationale to drive internal alignment
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and a variety of external partners
