About the Role:
As the Staff Accountant at Inscopix, you play a highly visible role in the continued growth of Inscopix. You’ll have a flexible role and get the opportunity to work on different accounting functions. You will be involved in the annual audit work, support of tax preparations and closely work with all business units to improve the information flow. With this role in our Accounting team you will have an opportunity to shape processes and elevate how we all work together. We’re about to start implementing new systems and creating various changes. If you get excited by the idea of helping a team automate the way we do things and would like being on our journey as we evaluate new tools and go through various changes, this could be the right role for you.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Manage revenue recognition and collections efforts.
- Review contracts to ensure proper accounting in accordance with GAAP, in particular with regards to revenue recognition
- Working on various aspects of the accounting function including revenue accounting, payroll and Assure compliance for sales taxes (Avalara)
- Assist with other aspects of accounting, such as AP, expenses, fixed assets and others.
- Support the month-end close process (i.e. reconciling balance sheet accounts, recording closing entries and maintaining closing records, etc)
- Support processing of payroll for our global team and accurate payroll accounting including accruals
- Assist executive and operational managers with questions
- Create report, assist with budget control efforts
What We’re Looking For someone that has:
- 3+ years of experience in corporate accounting and/or payroll with at least one year in revenue accountant. Candidates with more experience should apply. We’re growing and looking for great talent.
- Confidence in making decisions while leaning on their supportive leaders for more complex challenges.
- Great ability to multitask and prioritize and knows how to manage up when there are conflicting deadlines.
- Collaborative working style and sees their internal colleagues as partners
- Strong detail orientation and organizational skills including great follow through to make sure no detail gets missed.
- Comfort with learning new technology. Preference for experience with QuickBooks Online, Excel, Concur and Avalara. It would be a plus if you have experience with system switches and system integrations.
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred but open to other backgrounds and comparable experiences. A solid understanding of US GAAP is required.
- Resourceful problem solving skill and knows how to research for and solve problems independently.
- Must be COVID-19 vaccinated.
- Currently lives in the Bay Area.
Reports To:
This position will report to our Accounting Manager.
Location and Hours:
This role is a hybrid role – based in Mountain View, CA. We’re flexible on the time and number of days in the office; however, we’re looking for someone that is flexible to come on site and/or can be onsite 2-3 days a week. As the person comes up to speed, this could potentially decrease. We mentioned the role can be part-time because we are willing to scale down the role for the right person.
