Description

The FAIR Data Informatics Lab at UCSD is a leader in developing and providing novel informatics infrastructure and tools for making data FAIR: Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Reusable. Recognizing that many biomedical domains faced similar problems in making data searchable and their constituents aware of resources available to them, the FDI Lab developed a generalized infrastructure to support additional biomedical domains that allows for the creation of customized data portals that can draw from a common pool of resources. The FDI Lab supports the National Institutes of Health Common Fund’s Stimulating Peripheral Activity to Relieve Conditions (SPARC) project which aims to transform our understanding of nerve-organ interactions and ultimately advance the neuromodulation field toward precise treatment of diseases and conditions for which conventional therapies fall short.

The SPARC Knowledge Management Core (K-Core) functions as the curation and knowledge management hub for SPARC, increasing the quality and FAIRness of SPARC datasets and building the SPARC Knowledge Graph and services.
