Position Summary

Kallyope is seeking creative, highly motivated summer interns who are interested in working in a biotech environment that is scientifically stimulating, highly collaborative, and laser-focused on translational biology. This opportunity is a full-time (40 hours per week) paid internship. All interns will have the exciting opportunity to lead their own project work over the course of the summer with support from a team of research associates and scientists. At the end of the summer, interns will have the opportunity to present their work to the team.

The Company is creating an industry-leading platform employing cutting edge technologies including sequencing, genetics, circuit mapping, neural imaging and computational biology. By integrating and applying complementary tools and approaches to the understanding of gut and gut-brain biology, Kallyope aims to develop transformational therapeutics to improve human health.

 

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • Currently working towards a bachelor’s degree in one of the following areas: Biology, Biochemistry (or similar), chemistry, computer science/computational biology
  • Some independent laboratory experience or proficiency in at least one programming language
  • Works well in a team environment and has strong interpersonal skills. Candidates should have a passion for science, be curious, collaborative, detail-oriented, and enthusiastic to learn new laboratory techniques

The expected pay for this role in New York City is $20/hour. Please keep in mind that this amount represents the average pay for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual offer will take into account a wide range of factors, including location.
