Smart Eye is leading the global market for Driver Monitoring Systems, which will soon be a standard component in every car. Monitoring the driver behavior is safety critical both for normal driving as well as for autonomous driving. We provide challenging and exciting thesis projects for students interested in driver monitoring and the technology behind it.

Smart Eye is continuously looking for motivated students and provide thesis projects both during spring and autumn semesters. The applications are examined and promising candidates are called for an interview at our office, where the thesis topics are discussed in person. Projects can be performed both individually or as a group of two persons, where the latter is recommended to encourage collaboration. Skills and Requirements

Required qualifications

• Completed B.Sc. and ongoing M.Sc. in a relevant engineering field such as Engineering Mathematics, Engineering Physics, Electrical Engineering, Automation and Mechatronics, Computer Science, Information Technology etc.
• A good understanding of mathematics (e.g. linear algebra, calculus).
• Programming skills; script programming, preferably Python, but any relevant software programming experience is sufficient.
• Completed or ongoing courses in machine learning, artificial intelligence, computer vision, image analysis or image processing.
• Fluent in English, both spoken and written.

Good-to-have-skills:

• Experience with PyTorch and Tensorflow.
• Experience working in Unix/Linux environments.
• Experience with non-scripting languages such as C/C++ or Java.
• Experience with code versioning tools i.e. Git, GitLab, GitHub.

• Possess strong analytical and creative skills with an interest for new technologies.
• Great communicator with fluency in English. Other languages are a merit.
