The Regional Manager, Clinical Applications will drive the development of new ZEISS Clinical Application Specialist programs and offerings to support the ZEISS Tumor Workflow (TWF), which is focused in the topic of Neurosurgery, and provide a consistent, high-quality post-sale training support to both internal and external customers. This role is also tasked with assisting ZEISS sales distributors with building up CAS capabilities within their organizations. They must establish mechanisms, from start to finish, that set the stage for successful achievement of this goal. This position will also provide CAS services to select key accounts within their assigned region as determined through collaboration with sales management and marketing. The Regional Manager, Clinical Applications will also provide remote training support to customers via Smart Services connectivity and/or approved virtual meeting platforms.
Essential Functions:
- Foster an environment of teamwork & Continuous Improvement.
- Set priorities and ensure tracking to goals and objectives.
- Counsel and develop the Clinical Application Specialists within the hospital distributor organizations toward improving their performance of job-related duties. This is to include scheduling of their time as it relates to ZEISS customers, customer satisfaction, training excellence methodology, product knowledge, application knowledge, etc.
- Assess team’s clinical and technical proficiency. Develop remote and/or in person training programs to improve performance of clinical, technical, and/or customer relationship skills
- Provide timely, professional responses to all requests from the home office, field or customers.
- Devise appropriate recognition programs that reinforce desired behavior of ZEISS distributor CAS team and encourage full participation in new training or technical skills courses/material reviews. Also, collaborate with distributor principals on common goals and targets for CAS team members (sales, customer visits, Net Promotor Score, etc.) Formulate measurement methods to support the programs.
- Assist in the career development of the CAS team members in collaboration with distributor principals and related to their organizational goals. Specific focus on mentoring with regards to supervisory skill sets, e-learning, and special project participation.
- Ensure knowledge consistency among the team by utilizing and maintaining a central knowledge database that serves as a clinical, technical and procedural reference source for team members.
- Participate, upon request of the distributor principal, in interviewing potential Distributor CAS candidates, and facilitate the formation of a formal education program (in collaboration with ZEISS Academy) to acclimate new Distributor CAS employees to the ZEISS TWF and training methodology to help them get up-to-speed as quickly as possible.
- Attend to customer complaints or issues raised from customer survey responses and document their resolution in the system.
- Identify and champion projects to improve the customer experience.
- Build and submit departmental annual budget. Monitor to ensure adherence to budget.
- Work collaboratively to streamline and correct business system processes that impede the team in reaching its goals.
- Partner with appropriate colleagues to keep up-to-date on upcoming product releases. Cultivate and execute comprehensive training plan to ensure CAS team’s readiness to support new and existing products.
- Take action to meet changing or increased support demands through collaborative scheduling with distributor principals and other Regional Clinical Application Managers or procedural changes.
- Develop, implement and communicate as necessary procedures and work instructions. Ensure that company SOPs and procedures are followed. Ensure work instructions, SOPs are documented and current.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to help facilitate application support resources are available on digital channels for customer self-service where appropriate (DCC, My ZEISS, etc.)
- Support ZEISS Academy where necessary for sales application training
- Support national sales meetings and national conferences when necessary to help train on new products, clinical applications and/or technical aspects of the TWF portfolio
Requirements:
- BS/BA degree or related field experience with medical capital equipment. A minimum of three years’ experience, ideally in the medical industry.
- Excellent communication skills with ability to effectively interface with all levels and departments on a formal, informal, written and verbal basis.
- Must be able to travel extensively by automobile and by air, with overnight travel.
- Must possess intermediate skill levels in Word Processing and Data Management, Finance.
- Requires successful completion of a background check. Requires clean DMV record and current valid driver’s license.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills necessary.
Special Demands:
- 50% travel is essential involving most often air travel and driving in representatives’ vehicles.
- Extensive computer and phone work is required, often after standard business hours, in order to fulfill job responsibilities.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk, hear, and use hand tools, objects or controls. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with their hands and arms.
