We are looking for a Senior Signal Processing Engineer to join our Science team. Our team is passionate about building algorithms, deriving novel biomarkers, and conducting validation studies in order to provide users with new insights into their health. We are dedicated to ensuring that the physiologic information Oura provides is both accurate and actionable. The ideal candidate will ensure the excellence of Oura products.
What You will do:
- Contribute to the research and development of front-end signal control and processing algorithms for Oura features/products
- Develop internal biosignal evaluation tools to help Oura’s electronics, mechanics, optics and FW teams optimize next generation products
- Design and conduct studies to sufficiently evaluate the signal quality of HW and FW prototypes and draw meaningful conclusions
- Coordinate cross-functional teams and communicate with stakeholders across continents
Requirements
We would love to have You join our team if You have:
- MSc degree (+ 6 years of experience) or PhD degree (+3 years of experience) in biomedical engineering, software engineering, electrical engineering or a related field
- Extended experience with 1D signals and signal processing methods (FIR/IIR filters, Kalman filtering, adaptive filtering, stochastic processes and etc)
- 3+ years of solid programming skills in Python
- Solid programming skills in C/C++ as a huge plus
- Experience in developing and validating time-series algorithms
- Experience in photonics and wearable hardwares as a huge plus
- Pragmatic can-do attitude and delivery-focused mindset: you can move quickly and prioritize effectively
- Flexible schedule and good asynchronous communication skills to work with Oura’s European teams on a daily basis

Oura takes a market-based approach to pay, which may vary depending on your location. US locations are categorized into tiers based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. While most offers will be closer to the starting range, successful candidates’ pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, internal peer equity, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.
This role is hybrid-remote based in San Diego, CA (2-3 days/week onsite in the San Diego office and 2-3 days/week remote). The below salary range is based on this location.
- San Diego $195,000 – $204,000
