Summary 

The Program Analysis Associate position is an exciting opportunity for an early career professional looking for broad exposure to data analysis for business operations. This role is very collaborative in nature working with teams across the Society for performance measurement. This position is highly involved in collecting and analyzing data used to support business and program decisions across the organization. 

 

Position Classification: Remote 

Essential Job Functions include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 

  •  Analyze and evaluate (on a quantitative or qualitative basis) the effectiveness of programs and activities in meeting established goals and objectives.
  • Serve as a resource for staff throughout the year on data analysis and visualization. Develop visualizations as necessary.
  • Assists with developing metrics, reporting, and business process documentation, for programs across the organization.
  • Assists in the development of logic models, data management plans, and other program planning and evaluation instruments as needed.
  • Assists in the development of surveys and other data collection instruments.
  • Drafts memos, reports, and/or presentations for varying audiences on clearly communicating data findings.
  • Assist in the development of project scopes, timelines, lists of deliverables, benchmarks, and project imperatives across departments and programs.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements And Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) 
  • 1-2 years of experience or relevant course work in monitoring and evaluating activities, data analysis, performance measurement, or research (or equivalent combination of education, internships, and experience).  

 

Qualifications:

  • Strong ability to acquire knowledge of the Society’s vision, mission, strategic plan, goals, business operations, and financial management.
  • Prior work experience in internal evaluation/business process evaluation and/or data analysis.
  • Strong research, data collection and analytical skills. 
  • A self-starter who takes initiative to identify problems and opportunities that increase the impact of the analytics team. 
  • Strong analytical, critical and logical thinking skills for problem solving or working through open ended projects.
  • Advanced experience and proficiency in MS office, including MS Word and Excel.
  • Familiarity or ability to learn data visualization software i.e. Power Bi, Tableau etc.
  • Familiarity or interest in advanced analytics, predictive models etc. 
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills required. 
  • Must be detailed-oriented while able to meet big picture goals and work on multiple projects simultaneously. 
  • Proven ability to organize and set priorities, work independently, and take initiative to meet deadlines. 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and team environment is essential.

 

Language Ability: Ability to read, and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Math Ability:  Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage and to draw and interpret graphs. Undergraduate Statistics preferred.

Reasoning Ability:  Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, the incumbent should have knowledge of MS Office especially Excel and experience using the Internet for research and knowledge of data analysis software such as Power BI and predictive analytics tools preferred.

Location: Remote

Employees may work remotely as part of a 35-hour workweek with core hours from 10am-3pm Eastern time. Remote employees should have a reliable high-speed internet connection to ensure they can conduct their work with maximum reliability.

While performing duties of the job, employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
