Position Summary
The Information Strategy & Business Analysis department focuses on the Management and Implementation of Information Technology, Business Intelligence, Knowledge management, and Business Process excellence to maximize the efficiency and effectiveness of the organization.
The Project Manager is responsible for the planning, communication, implementation, and general management of major systems integration, data management, and process improvement projects across the organization. This position will oversee all facets of project management and will supervise one staff member.
Essential Job Functions
- Manages technology, data, and process improvement projects and assists director with oversight of the overall department portfolio as needed.
- Creates and executes project work plans, revising as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
- Anticipates stakeholder needs and identifies and flags potential challenges and risks.
- Manages stakeholder, management, and vendor expectations through effective communication and reporting.
- Coordinates internal and external resources according to project plan and budget.
- Manages project meeting logistics and agendas and facilitates group discussions.
- Oversees project budget in collaboration with the director.
- Develops functional specifications and requirements. Works closely with the Technology Services department.
- Manages procurement needs and requests for proposal process development.
- Documents key decisions and procedures and communicates this information to the appropriate stakeholders.
- Creates test plans and manages the UAT.
- Supervises and prioritizes any post-launch adjustments as necessary.
- Transitions completed project to support/maintenance environment, including securing training for staff on new systems.
- Assists with data governance and data privacy practices for the organization.
- Acts as liaison with departments in collaboration with director to gather emerging technology, data, and process improvement needs across the organization, to prioritize and recommend future projects.
- Takes full ownership of projects.
Supervisory Skills
- Directly supervises a junior business analyst. Delegates effectively, communicates expectations clearly, and provides professional development opportunities.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Minimum 3 years of direct project management experience.
- Demonstrated project management experience and capacity to manage multiple projects spanning different teams/business units.
- Experience with data and systems integration projects.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
- Supervisory or team lead experience.
- PMP, CAPM, SCRUM and other relevant certifications.
- Demonstrated accomplishments working with databases and analysis/business intelligence tools.
- Flexibility to determine the best approach for managing different projects and stakeholder needs.
- Collaborative style and strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with colleagues.
- Strong customer service skills, including the ability to maintain a professional environment while managing difficult situations.

Location: Remote – DMV area preferred
- Remote – DMV Area: Employees can work from home in the DMV area as part of a 35-hour workweek with core hours from 10am-3pm Eastern time. Remote employees should have a reliable high-speed internet connection to ensure they can conduct their work with maximum reliability.
