Pixium Vision develops innovative Bionic Vision Restoration Systems, which are active implantable medical devices intended to help blind people regain visual perception and improve their autonomy.

Brief Summary of Key Job Aspects

As part of the R&D software team, you will lead the software design and implementation software systems components of Pixium Vision’s medical devices and associated in-house test and manufacturing software tools.

This includes software requirements, risk analysis, implementation, integration, testing, release, deployment in production and maintenance phases of the software life cycle.

You will collaborate with internal stakeholders (clinical, production and marketing teams), gathering their feedback for product or tooling changes or improvements.

Responsibilities

Thanks to your skills, you will carry out the following activities:

• Lead product system software and software tools developments to meet business, regulatory and manufacturing requirements:
  • Establishing development plan, documenting technical specifications and risk analysis in coordination with interdisciplinary project teams for input to the software implementation, system integration and tests,
  • Coordinating developments and tests execution with cooperation of the Software Architect, Developers and Test Leader,
  • Controlling the deadline and quality goals and reporting to product Project Leaders.
• Drive the software projects and documentation in accordance with national and international standards (e.g. IEC 62304), internal procedures, and good practice,
• Drive software developments for the manufacturing needs and support technical writing of work instructions according to the product manufacturing quality plans,
• Track change requests in accordance with clinical and post-market feedback following products deployment on field,
• Continuously support the software development processes improvements under consideration of national and international law, regulations and standards in the medical device industry.

Qualifications/Experience

The Software Development Leader position requires:

• Degree in computer science, engineering or equivalent,
• A minimum of two years practical software project lead and design experience,
• Detailed understanding and experience of software development, including verification and validation principles, requirements management and flow down,
• General knowledge of coding languages such as C, C++ and Python,
• Good English language skills,
• Ability to communicate to all levels within the organization,
• Experience of software development in the medical device industry or other highly regulated industry.
