About the Role:

At Neurocrine Biosciences, Inc. (NASDAQ: NBIX) we are growing our expertise and capabilities within the long-term care (LTC) channel of our business. The Commercial Operations team is seeking a talented professional with deep knowledge of how facilities, providers, and prescription fulfillment processes work and support residents in the long-term care setting. This role will drive data and operational support efforts for our LTC sales team, which is executing Neurocrine’s growth strategy in LTC. If you are passionate about building the data and operational infrastructure needed to support a business and have spent considerable time exposed to the dynamic world of LTC, then we have the position for you! You’ll partner with stakeholder Commercial teams like LTC Sales and Market Access to translate business needs into requirements for databases and systems/tools. You’ll then work closely with members of our Commercial Analytics and Operations department, including Data Management, Field Operations and Commercial Analytics to drive LTC projects to completion.

 

Your Contributions (include, but are not limited to): 

  • Partners with LTC stakeholders in our Commercial Sales, Market Access and Marketing teams to execute on the LTC Analytical and Operational Support Infrastructure Roadmap. This consists of capturing requirements for both the data which should be acquired and/or generated, as well as how that data should be organized, stored, processed, and made available to analytical and reporting business applications
  • Works with LTC stakeholders and teams within Commercial Analytics & Operations (e.g., Data Management, Field Operations, Commercial Analytics) to define project milestones and deliverables. Communicates regularly with the group on project status updates. Leverages knowledge of LTC to help translate business needs into deliverables, ensuring alignment between LTC stakeholders and Commercial Operations. Manages the LTC-focused projects from initiation to resolution through strategic planning, resource management, execution, and communication
  • Partners closely with Commercial Data Management on data contracting, data acquisition, and ensuring we maintain an accurate inventory of data assets related to LTC. Assists in negotiating data contracts and qualifies data vendors for data acquisition as needed. Manages the budget of all LTC data assets and the associated data agreements
  • Helps to manage the ongoing quality and application of onboarded data supporting the Neurocrine commercial organization, ensuring high quality data and appropriate use. Conducts regular business reviews with the contracted entities to ensure the quality, accuracy and timeliness of data meets the LTC organizational needs and identifies areas of improvements needed to meet data quality standards
  • Partners closely with the Field Operations and Commercial Analytics teams to incorporate LTC needs into field sales operational tools, e.g., Veeva CRM, and develop and roll out reports, dashboards, and integrated databases to support both field teams as well as our headquarters analytical needs related to the LTC channel
  • Contributes to the Field Operations field user team discussions to collect input on current tools and reports and apply feedback to future solutions
  • Assists the department in developing Commercial Data Governance policies and identifying gaps in current data management processes and standards
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Requirements: 

  • BA/BS, preferably in technical disciplines such as engineering, math, and computer science or business disciplines such as finance and marketing
  • 12+ years of experience working in data management and/or sales operations functions within the biotechnology/pharmaceutical industry. Experience working with data warehouse and master data management systems, CRM systems such as Veeva, and reporting applications like Tableau, PowerBI and IQ2020 to support sales teams. Previous managerial / functional management experience is also required.
  • OR Master’s degree in similar disciplines above with 8+ years of experience.
  • 6+ years of relevant work experience within the biotechnology/pharmaceutical industry focused on long-term care (LTC) is strongly preferred
  • Strategic understanding of sales and marketing with the ability to identify product sales drivers, trends and issues. Experience working closely with sales and marketing teams strongly preferred
  • Ability to work with all levels of a field team
  • Ability to present to an executive management team to gain approval or feedback on proposals for LTC initiatives
  • Experience with business intelligence (BI) and analytical tools. Experience developing models in Excel, scripting languages such as SQL, development in BI and reporting platforms like Tableau or PowerBI
  • Experience with data acquisition, onboarding, contract negotiations, and vendor management
  • Proven results as a project manager in major, cross-functional technology projects. Strong organizational skills and experience working and managing multiple projects simultaneously. Ability to independently lead projects as well as work within a team in a matrixed, cross functional environment with competing priorities
  • Strong skills work with PowerPoint, Excel, and Word are required
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to simplify complex technical issues
  • Ability to thrive in a complex and dynamic environment

The annual base salary we reasonably expect to pay is $147,300.00-$235,700.00. Individual pay decisions depend on various factors, such as primary work location, complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. In addition, this position offers an annual bonus with a target of 30% of the earned base salary and eligibility to participate in our equity based long term incentive program.
