Description

Under the supervision of the Clinic Manager and Interventional Psychiatry clinicians, the technician will provide repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) for the treatment of depression and other psychiatric disorders. This is an FDA approved, non-invasive form of brain stimulation with minimal side effects. The technician is responsible for administeringrTMS treatment to patients on a daily basis utilizing standard protocols outlined by the Interventional Psychiatry team.

As well as technical services for both clinical and research purposes, the technician will provide a comprehensive range of duties including intake management, community outreach, and administrative duties. Patient care and safety is the utmost duty and participation with clinical team care planning and treatment will also include innovation and research. Duties may include, but are not limited to: scheduling of patients; equipment/supply management; cleaning/disinfecting the environment; and occasional responsibilities supporting clinical research activities as well as other related administrative functions. May perform other related duties as assigned.

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Three (3) years related experience.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with patients and co-workers.
  • Proven ability to conduct oneself in a highly professional manner in dealing withpatients and their families.
  • Ability to field and manage a high volume of interaction with patients and their families.
  • Ability to balance multiple responsibilities and shift priorities as needed.
  • Ability to consistently prioritize patient care over other work demands.
  • Be able to maintain strict confidentiality with experience applying good judgment and discretion.
  • Have excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work with mental health populations.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date
  • EPIC, EMR.
  • Experience with Psychiatric population.
  • UCSD procedural experience.
  • Experience with transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) treatment.
  • Knowledge of UCSD IRB and other federal research policies and procedures.
  • Bi-lingual in both Spanish and English.

  • Must be able to work various hours and locations including weekends based on business needs.

Pay Transparency Act Full Salary Range: $51,949 – $61,972 Annually

Annual Full Pay Range: $51,532 – $64,039 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $24.68 – $30.67

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
