TSC’s Intelligent Systems Laboratory in North Carolina is a state-of-the-art research and development research facility, dedicated to R&D in the areas of computational neuroscience, deep learning, machine learning, persistent surveillance, autonomous systems and computer vision. The laboratory currently is host to world-class scientists and engineers, with advanced degrees in computer science, mathematics, electrical engineering, neuroscience, chemistry, biomedical engineering and mechanical engineering.

Job Description
Teledyne Scientific Company is seeking an exceptional Research Scientist to support research and development projects that require advanced neurotechnology development for brain-machine interfacing and human performance enhancement. Ideal candidates will have a proven track record of significant contributions to advanced research and development programs. This position is at our Intelligent Systems Laboratory in Research Triangle Park, Durham, North Carolina.
Primary Responsibilities:
Define, develop, and deliver novel solutions to a broad range of problems that include applications in brain-machine interface, neurostimulation, neural engineering, neural signal processing and algorithm development.
Specific duties include:
- Contribute to the design, execution, and analysis of advanced applied neuroscience experiments in the domains of neuromodulation, cognitive neuroscience, and human performance (>90%)
- Contribute to proposal development for new funding through marketing to customers and proposal writing (~5%)
- A small amount of travel (less than 5% time) is anticipated.
Skills/Experience:
- 0-5 years of experience in working with and/or developing advanced neurotechnology or advanced neuroscience research
- Experience with neural signal processing techniques (e.g., filtering, feature extraction, classification, online control algorithms, beamforming, source localization) is required
- Significant experience with scientific programming in Python, MATLAB, and/or Julia is required
- Strong foundation in neuroscience sensing and stimulation techniques (e.g., MEG, EEG, tDCS, tACS, TMS) is a plus
- Experience writing winning proposals is a plus
- Ability to work well independently and in a team
- Knowledge of computer architecture and hardware (GPU/FPGA/distributed computing, System on a Chip) is a plus
- Excellent interpersonal and communication (presentation & writing) skills
Education: Candidates are required to have a Ph.D. in Neuroscience, Biomedical Engineering, or similar
Security Clearance:
- Candidates are required to be U.S. Citizens
- Current SECRET clearance or minimally able to obtain Security Clearance
