Here are some of the things we’re looking for (we know nobody can do all of this, but tell us what you CAN do and what you see as your growth path!):

• Experience: A Master’s degree with 3 years of software development experience, a Bachelor’s degree with 7 years of software development experience, or equivalent. Software related degrees (Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or Computer Science) are preferred.
• Leadership: The ability to lead a software team, coordinate with a hardware team and interact with a scientific team. The ability to manage outsourcing if required. The ability to build, nourish and mentor a talented team of software professionals.
• Proficiency: Knowledge of mobile, desktop and web development technologies. The ability to drive software architecture and development tool selection decisions. Familiarity with the full suite of standard product team tools from source control through (support) instance management software. Knowledge of iOS development (Xcode); Linux, MacOS and Windows desktop development (C variants, Go, Swift, Matlab); SaaS Web development (SQL, RESTful services, JavaScript and frameworks, Perl, Python, .NET, LAMP stack, AWS & services [e.g. Lambda, Aurora would be nice]).
• Flexibility: Familiarity with Agile software development and the flexibility to adapt it to work within a Quality Management System consistent with the regulatory requirements for medical devices. The ability to interact with executives, consultants, auditors, clinicians, patients, vendors and suppliers, both locally and internationally. Flexibility to work in standard software languages as well as integrate with scientific libraries and languages (e.g. Matlab).
• Clarity: The ability to speak and write clearly and effectively. An understanding of and respect for standards and the ability to write and apply specifications, standards and best practices.
