The opportunity

Our Team is looking for a Principal to support our leadership team on Technical and Scientific matters.

The preference is for an on-site position, either based in Canada (Montreal or Toronto) or in the United States (preference for Boston).

More specifically, the candidate is expected to provide insights into Technology, Science, Clinical, and Regulatory matters for Neurotechnology clients across a variety of markets and geographies.

The successful candidate will be required to work and lead teams on management consulting assignments in the context of products and solutions in the fields of:

  • Neuromodulation
  • Neuroprosthetics
  • Neurofeedback
  • Neuro Imaging
  • Digital Therapeutics
  • Brain Computer Interface 
  • Artificial Intelligence
  • Etc.

 

Responsibilities

  • Contribution to the planning and execution of Neurotechnology consulting projects, with the highest level of responsibilities, accountabilities, and expectations given the candidate’s seniority level
  • Supervision and coaching of team members on a wide variety of subjects and applications. The candidate is expected to bring significant (training/coaching) value to highly educated team members and clients, including PhDs and Postdocs
  • Collaboration in the elaboration of key recommendations & Presentation during client meetings
  • Review of complex patents to provide an opinion on potential value, and quality of technology in terms of both hardware and software applications (with a sufficient understanding of the Mechanism of Action (MoA) and Market Readiness)
  • Ability to map both competitors and substitutes to a given product/solution, including upcoming solutions currently in clinical trials
  • Design and Review of clinical trials
  • Design and Execution of High-level Regulatory pathway
  • Development of product roadmaps (in collaboration with clients and partners)
  • Collaboration in the context of Headhunting projects by assessing technical candidate profiles
  • Opine on the future of the neurotechnology industry – The candidate is expected to be and maintain a reputation as an authority in the field
  • Be creative in developing innovative strategies
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients and partners
  • Support of Leadership Team in Sales & Business Development
  • Conduct candidate interviews
  • Work as a collaborative team member

Your experience and education

  • 10+ years of relevant experience
  • Experience in planning and managing complex projects 
  • Experience in presenting recommendations to leadership teams (client or internal)
  • Experience in networking with Key Opinion Leaders in the neurotechnology industry
  • Experience with Start-ups and/or Scale-ups 
  • Strong understanding of Clinical Trial processes and requirements
  • Sufficient understanding/ experience with hardware and software development
  • Sufficient understanding of Healthcare Systems in key Geographies (North America & Europe) 
  • Sufficient understanding of neurology and psychiatry to be able to understand what the standard of care is for diagnostics and treatments of various indications
  • Some clinical experience, including high level understanding of psychometrics and statistics
  • High level understanding of IP & Patent rights
  • High level understanding of Key Certifications required to commercialize neurotechnology products in key geographies
  • Experience in performing scientific research and reviewing publications through the use of tools such as PubMed, Patentscope, or equivalent
  • PhD level education or equivalent in Neuroscience, Biomedical Engineering or equivalent is a plus
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written)
