Junior Accountant

We’re looking for a Junior Accountant to be part of our Finance and Accounting team with in-depth knowledge of accounting principles to efficiently analyze and create financial reports and forecasts. Working under the direction of the Controller and Senior Accountant, you will prepare and record journal entries, prepare month-end reconciliations and analysis and assist with data validation to create relevant financial insights to support operational and strategic decision-making.

Role and Responsibilities

• Reconcile and maintain balance sheet accounts and journal entry preparation
• Support the month-end close process – prepare work papers, journal entries, bank and credit card reconciliation, and analysis as needed
• Help with maintaining cost accounting model to ensure the accurate calculation of unit cost for services related to a specific job or project
• Administer accounts payable ensure timely payment of invoices, confirming validity of the debt and gathering appropriate approvals
• Maintain and record prepaid, amortization, accrued expenses, and fix assets schedules
• Maintain and reconcile fixed assets schedules
• Help with the upload and maintenance of data into our EPM system
• Help with preparing federal, state, local, and special tax returns as needed
• Review expense reports for accuracy and compliance with company guidelines
• Perform other accounting tasks as required or assigned
• Prepare data for submission of 1099 annual forms
• Help with annual audit preparations
• Maintain weekly cash flow projections reporting

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting required
• 2 plus years of accounting experience
• Experience with GAAP accounting, financial analysis standards
• Hands-on experience working with general ledgers
• Detail oriented
• Able to multi-task and prioritize work effectively

Technical & Bonus Experience

• QuickBooks, SAP – Plus
• Expertise in Excel (can maintain complex spreadsheets)
• Bill.com
• Expensify
