This position is responsible to develop Starkey hearing aid and accessory manufacturing test platforms.  This includes developing, implementing, and validating hardware and software to test Starkey products at the component, subassembly, and device levels.  In addition, this person will research, develop, and implement innovative techniques in detecting defects and test automation to improve cost and efficiency in the production environment. 

 

Approach and Deployment 

  • Design, develop, and implement automated systems to test product in a manufacturing environment, at component, subassembly and systems levels 
  • Perform product requirements analysis, test requirements definition, test system hardware and software design, systems integration, and validation 
  • Generate design, validation, and maintenance documentation to comply with corporate quality system and department policies 
  • Provide troubleshooting guidance and sustaining support for test systems in Manufacturing 
  • Monitor Manufacturing test data to identify product and process quality issues, as well as test system performance 
  • Independently and collaboratively resolve technical challenges and identify opportunities for improvement 
  • Work with cross functional teams to contribute to the completion of projects 
  • Develop product and technology knowledge though informal mentoring by more experienced personnel 
  • Keep current on test-technology trends

  • Test development activities and deliverables are compliant with the Starkey Quality Management System 
  • Develop innovative, reusable, and sustainable test methods, hardware, and software

Job Requirements 

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a physical science with a strong emphasis in electrical, mechanical, or computer engineering. 

 

Experience: 

  • 3-5 years of experience in working with electronic hardware and software, and an active participant in problem solving teams 
  • Experience and knowledge of electrical hardware is essential for success in this role 
  • Experience in Python, .NET, C/C++/C#, or LabView programming 
  • Experience in developing and integrating hardware and software systems 
  • Exposure to analytical and metrology tools and interpretation of the data from these tools. 
  • Exposure to statistical process control methods and tools (Cpk, Gage R&R, minitab, etc.) 
  • Experience troubleshooting electronic components, printed circuit board assemblies, and products preferred 
  • Experience with mixed signal and RF circuits/systems a plus 
  • Exposure to medical device manufacturing a plus

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications 
  • Ability to learn new concepts quickly and apply these skills to solve problems 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team with moderate supervision 
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills 
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
