About the Opportunity

Participates in the development, coordination and implementation of several research projects that are essential to the research activities of the WVU Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute. Under the supervision of research faculty, performs a variety of independent and collaborative duties involved in these research projects.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead Research Assistant (RA) for WVU RNI wearable study: medical student burnout.
  • RA for wearable study on Pain, aging, OUD.
  • RA for psychophysiological experiments.
  • Suicide prevention work with the Behavioral Wellness program.
  • Conduct primary source research.
  • Perform archival research.
  • Plans and schedules research activities.
  • Gathers demographic and clinical data on study participants.
  • Prepares and reports results of research activities.
  • Collect, organize and synthesize source material.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field OR an equivalent combination of education and directly related experience. Ideal candidates for this position include students at the graduate level with an interest in pursuing a career in health science, medicine, surgery, nursing, social work, public health, or behavioral science.
  • 0-6 months of experience in clinical research
  • Have excellent communication skills.
  • Candidate should be outgoing, organized, detail-oriented, and motivated to further the research goals of the WVU RNI.
  • Able to adhere to firm deadlines.
  • Position requires the ability to protect participant confidentiality and maintain composure when handling sensitive issues
  • Knowledge of research methods and design.

 

About Research Corporation 

The WVURC was created as a not-for-profit corporation in 1985 to support research (R1) at West Virginia University. We provide evaluation, development, patenting, management, and marketing services for inventions of the faculty, staff and students of the University.

The WVURC receives and administers funds awarded by external agencies for research and other activities and is responsible for helping protect intellectual property through patents, copyrights and licensing agreements for start-up companies based on University research.
