About the Opportunity
We are seeking to hire a research technician to perform rodent behavior studies and animal colony maintenance. These studies will investigate the role of brain vascular dysfunction and systemic inflammation in brain injury and neurodegenerative disorders.

What you’ll do:
The successful applicant will be able to maintain a mouse colony, update colony management software, and assist in the behavioral assessment of animal models of neurological disease. This requires expertise in handling animals, testing of computer and control equipment, and monitoring animals during tasks. The applicant will also be responsible for assisting with MR imaging and multiphoton microscopy.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in biology, psychology, or neuroscience with course work and lab experience in behavioral neuroscience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Six (6) months experience with mouse behavioral assessments and small animal handling is required.
- Ability to handle live rodents in experimental settings
- Proficiency in animal behavioral assessments and data analysis.
- Attention to detail and ability to comprehend and follow verbal instructions and/or written or published protocols.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills for communicating effectively and courteously with PI and lab personnel.
- Working knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet programs such as Microsoft Word and Excel. Proficiency with GraphPad Prism preferred.
