About the role:

Account Resolution Specialist is responsible for providing a great customer experience while working to collect and negotiate terms of repayment on outstanding account balances. In a high-volume environment, works in a professional, customer-centered way; taking inbound calls, making outbound calls, and using an auto-dialer or direct dial system to determine why a call is delinquent. Provides exceptional service while being compassionate to patients.

 

Your Responsibilities will Include:

  • Provide reconciliation of customer accounts and resolve outstanding balance issues. Identify and submit credit memos.
  • Establish relationships with customers to encourage faster pay.
  • Ability to maintain a high volume of phone calls.
  • Communicate and follow up effectively with other RCM departments regarding customer accounts on a timely basis.
  • Work with both Sales and the customer in the resolution of disputed balances.
  • Suggest account adjustments, small balance write offs and escalate uncollected balances for write offs.
  • Meet defined department goals and activity metrics.
  • Responsible for requesting, tracking and trending overpayment recoveries and adjustments for voided checks and refunds. 
  • Interprets and utilizes contract and benefit information to accurately process managed care claims for all lines of business, including COB adjudication. 
  • Responsible for Provider Dispute Resolution acknowledgements, ensuring responses are within CMS & DMHC guidelines.
  • Investigates and presents complex cases to management for resolution. 
  • Interfaces with other departments to resolve eligibility, referral and Network Management related claim issues. 
  • Responsible for claim adjustments on previously processed claims related to a member out of pocket share cost.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

What We’re Looking For In You:

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma 
  • 1-3 years relevant business experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Must have minimum of 3 years’ experience in a Customer Service call enter environment with a focus on healthcare billing/collections or collection agency environment or 3 years’ experience working in a client service, preferably in a healthcare environment.
  • PC skills in a Windows environment are required. Solid knowledge and utilization of desktop applications to include Word and Excel are essential.
