Postdoctoral Researcher in Bone or Peripheral Nerve Regeneration

Baltimore, Maryland, Mid-Atlantic       ·        Full time

We are recruiting a highly qualified postdoctoral researcher to investigate stem cell therapy after peripheral nerve injury or bone defect, including using in vitro and in vivo models for nerve or bone regeneration.

We are looking for a highly motivated, and career-oriented research individual, with a PhD in cell biology, neuroscience or a related field.

  • Experience in standard tissue culture, immunobiochemistry, immunocytochemistry, RT-PCR, and small animal surgery is required.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to work independently and in collaboration are necessary.
  • Willingness to learn new techniques is essential.

Cell biology and proven superior knowledge and expertise, as demonstrated by a solid publication record, in two or more of these areas are desirable: a) stem cell biology, b) electrophysiology, c) basic experimental or translational neuroscience research interests in peripheral nerve injury or bone regeneration, d) translational animal models, or e) neurobehavioral testing. A successful candidate will possess interdisciplinary skills and hands-on experience in conducting cellular and animal studies based on a detailed understanding of neuroscience of peripheral nerve or bone regeneration after injury. The postdoctoral researcher will assist in planning experiments, methods development, and will conduct productive research in the fields of stem cell and peripheral nerve or bone regeneration. Strong technical skills and capabilities to do independent research would be most desirable.

The position is available for immediate occupancy for a 1-2 year appointment, contingent on background experience, performance, and continued availability of funding.
