The Role
The Quality Inspector will be responsible for performing visual and functional inspections of medical device products throughout the production process. The successful candidate will work closely with production personnel, engineers, and other qualified personnel to ensure that our products are manufactured in accordance with specifications. This position is responsible for the 12pm – 8pm shift. This position is based on-site in Austin, Texas, and will have less than 5% travel.
Responsibilities include:
- Conducting visual and functional inspections of medical device products to ensure compliance with specifications and standards.
- Performing incoming, in-process, and final inspections of medical device products.
- Communicating test results and issues to management and other stakeholders as needed.
- Working with production personnel and engineers to resolve any quality issues during the production process.
- Performing testing and analysis on medical device products using established and in-development protocols and procedures.
- Recording and maintaining accurate data and documentation related to test results and equipment usage.
- Operating and supporting the maintenance of specialized equipment to perform tests and measurements on medical devices.
- Participating in training programs to learn new equipment and testing techniques as needed.
- Ensuring all activities comply with established safety and regulatory requirements.
- Managing workload and prioritizing tasks to ensure timely completion of assigned work.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Demonstrated experience in quality inspection in the medical device industry.
- Familiarity with inspection equipment such as microscopes, vision systems, and automated inspection equipment.
- Ability to read drawings, including GD&T.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to detect small defects in products.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- 3 years of experience in medical device inspection
