Job Description
What you’ll do:
We make touch and eye tracking based assistive technology for people with communication and mobility challenges. The success of our products has life-changing impact on our customers. Our Research & Development Team develops the hardware, software, and other technology that makes that impact possible.
As a Senior Software Engineer, you are responsible for developing cutting edge mobile and desktop applications in a complex, cross platform environment. In this Senior role, you will routinely be given the responsibility to design and develop new features, contribute to the maturity of the underlying design patterns, and guide junior members of the team. The applications you build will serve a wide audience of individuals with physical and/or learning disabilities.
You will also:
- Design, develop and deploy products across multiple operating systems
- Take ownership of the development of new features
- Modularize architectural components to maximize scalability and minimize code duplication
- Develop user experiences with clear and easy to understand paradigms that are applicable to the target user group
- Contribute architectural/API improvements
- Communicate technical details to an audience outside of the engineering department
- Debug problems in code through static analysis as well as platform specific debugging tools
- Implement clear and well-documented APIs for use in higher level code
- Follow a standard set of internal coding practices
Qualifications
What you’ll bring:
- B.S. in Computer Science/Engineering or 5 – 7 years’ experience in software engineering
- 5+ years industry experience in mobile or desktop application development.
- 3+ years rich experience in C#.
- Proven experience bringing commercial products to market.
Preferred experience and skills:
- Proficiency in object-oriented languages such as Objective-C, Java, or C++
- Knowledge in mobile/desktop UI systems
- Familiarity with the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
- Demonstrated aptitude for learning new technologies
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to thrive in collaborative team setting
- Excellent problem-solving skills

Where you’ll be:
While you’ll have the option to work from home most days, this role will also require time in the office, so we are looking for candidates within no more than a 4-5 hour drive of Pittsburgh. We’ll keep you energized with fresh fruit, corn hole, and a bright, playful atmosphere with lots of comfy spaces to work.
