Job Description
HW Electronics Engineer – OEM
Job Summary:
The Senior Electronics Engineer is responsible for the electronic circuit design of new and sustaining products in the OEM Engineering department. This position will support customers with product integration and design-level tasks as assigned.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Define product and hardware requirements
- Design analog, digital, and power supply circuits, including schematic capture and layout
- Develop and execute test protocols
- Perform and support EMC compliance testing of finished products
- Support safety testing of finished products
- Interface with OEM customers during product integration as required
Minimum & Preferred Qualifications and Experience:
Minimum Qualifications:
- 5+ years minimum in electronic design
- Experience in designing switching and LDO power supplies
- Experience in designing microprocessor-based systems, including both schematic and layout
- Familiar with common interfaces including I2C, UART, SPI
- Experience with low-level C programming for board bring up
- Experience with the hardware design for EMI / EMC
- Experience in product development, including requirements and specification definition, hardware verification, functional testing, and test report generation and release.
- Experience with basic lab equipment, including oscilloscope, power supply, and multi-meter.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and analytical skills appropriate for interaction with all team members (Internal and external customers, suppliers, hardware engineers, test staff & management)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of medical safety standards: IEC 60601-1 and ISO 80601-2-61
- Working knowledge of EMC standards: IEC 60601-1-2, ISO 80601-2-49, FCC part 15 and RED
- Working knowledge of ARM-based processor, Cortext-A, and/or Cortex-M core
- Working knowledge of DxDesigner + PADS or similar tool
- Working knowledge of LTspice or similar tools
- Working knowledge of Python or similar tools
- Working knowledge of Agile product life cycle
- Medical device design experience
Education: B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Engineering Physics, or equivalent
Compensation: The anticipated range for this position is $125,000 to $165,000. Actual placement within the range is dependent on multiple factors, including but not limited to skills, education, and experience.
Physical Requirements/Work Environment
This position primarily works in an office environment. It requires frequent sitting, standing, and walking. Daily use of a computer and other computing and digital devices is required. May stand for extended periods when facilitating meetings or walking in the facilities. Some local travel is necessary, so the ability to operate a motor vehicle and maintain a valid Driver’s license is required.

About The Team
The Hardware Engineering teams design, test, and implement the analog and digital instrumentation for the electronic hardware of our medical devices. Additionally, this department is responsible for R&D, deployment, and maintenance of circuit boards and ASIC chips.
