The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Financial Analyst to join our FP&A team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing insightful financial analysis including budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis and reporting to support key stakeholders in making sound financial decisions. Your expertise and strategic mindset will be instrumental in driving business performance and identifying opportunities for improvement across the organization. This role, reporting to the VP of Finance, will have a high level of visibility working across the organization and directly with members of the Executive team.
What You’ll Do
Financial Planning and Analysis:
- Develop, implement, and manage the financial planning and forecasting processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Prepare comprehensive financial models, sensitivity analyses and scenario planning to support decision-making.
- Conduct variance analysis and provide insights on financial performance against budget, forecast and prior periods.
- Identify key performance indicators (KPIs) and establish metrics to track business performance, providing actionable recommendations for improvement.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Partner with the VP of Finance to lead the organization through the annual budgeting process, collaborating with department heads to develop detailed budgets aligned with strategic objectives.
- Develop rolling forecasts to provide accurate and up-to-date financial projections.
- Monitor budget adherence, identify deviations and work closely with stakeholders to address any discrepancies or risks.
Financial Reporting and Analysis:
- Prepare and present regular financial reports, including monthly/quarterly management reports & financial summaries of performance.
- Analyze financial data, identify trends and provide actionable insights to improve financial performance.
- Develop and enhance financial dashboards, providing real-time visibility into key financial metrics for stakeholders.
Business Partnering and Decision Support:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Product, Engineering, Commercial, Medical and G&A functions, to analyze financial impacts and support decision-making.
- Conduct ad-hoc financial analysis and special projects as required by senior management.
Process Improvement and Systems Enhancement:
- Be the “super-user” of Vena, the financial planning and analysis software, for the organization to streamline and automate FP&A processes, including budgeting, forecasting and reporting.
- Continuously evaluate and optimize the use of Vena to improve efficiency, data accuracy and reporting capabilities
- Identify opportunities to leverage technology and automation to streamline FP&A processes.
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related field. MBA or CFA designation is a plus.
- 3-5 years of experience in financial planning and analysis.
- Strong financial modeling skills and proficiency in Excel .
- Robust experience with financial planning software or ERP system. Experience with Vena financial planning software is preferred.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a sharp eye for detail and accuracy.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively present complex financial information to non-finance stakeholders. Confidence in communicating with senior executive business partners.
- Advanced knowledge of financial analysis techniques, forecasting methods and budgeting processes.
- Strong business acumen and the ability to think strategically, providing actionable insights to drive business performance.
- Proven track record of delivering results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
Compensation:
This is a long-term contract position with the potential to convert to a full-time position.
Cash Compensation: $90,000 – $130,000 base salary (dependent on location) plus additional incentive compensation and benefits
