Job Summary and Primary Responsibilities

This is an exciting role for a talented Staff Accountant looking to grow to the next level. The position is located in San Diego, CA, and is within our Global Accounting Team. We will provide training and mentorship to help you grow in your accounting skills and career.
- Responsible for ensuring the accounting performed at various international subsidiaries is accurately maintained and properly reported in both local statutory GAAP and US GAAP
- Engaging with various international subsidiaries to review their figures, asking thoughtful and probing questions to ensure that the amounts reported on a periodic basis are logical and supportable
- Partnering closely with the domestic and international accounting teams, the financial reporting team, the FP&A team, and the treasury and tax functions to help ensure that information from around the world is flowing into the Company’s consolidated financials in an accurate manner.
- Assisting with requests for quarterly reviews, year-end audit, and internal compliance audits at both the corporate US GAAP level and the year-end audits for subsidiary local statutory GAAP reporting.
- Ensuring that global trial balance load files from across the world are being reported accurately in BPC, that consolidated results include the elimination of all intercompany balances, that currency translations are calculating appropriately, that elimination of equity and investment balances are maintained, and that balances are shown in US GAAP for consolidated reporting.
- Managing and validating all global FX rates used to ensure consistency across the world
- Accumulating and summarizing activities associated with cashflow reporting, foreign currency, and intercompany balances and activities.
- Ensuring compliance with the Company’s control environment and recommending ways in which that environment can be improved.
- Performs other duties as assigned
Required Skills / Capabilities
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with solid verbal and written communication skills
- Organized, accountable, and proactive with exceptional attention to detail
- Problem solving and analytical skills, and proficiency in MS Office applications
- Thorough understanding of GAAP and basic accounting principles
- Ability and commitment to set priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a successful team
Education and Experience
- Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of two years of related experience
- SAP, Oracle, Cognos, or other large ERP system experience preferred
- CPA license preferred
- Foreign GAAP and IFRS knowledge preferred
Salary Range: $63,000 – $105,000
