Team Lead, Data Science
This is a full-time salaried position for a leader who stares AI in the eye and thinks “I can make you better” and who is driven to build the most cutting edge AI/ML systems for brain data decoding in the world. This position is based in Los Angeles, California (West/Playa Vista) with three days a week in office. The role requires both hands-on data science/engineering work and team management work.

You Will:
- Love working at the state-of-the-art level solving the most complex neuroscience and data science problems. You always seek the most elegant solutions, while knowing that sometimes the best can be messy.
- Handle contextual computing frameworks and multimodal data.
- Develop out your own analysis methods to apply to brain data.
- Do hands on error analysis and detailed project post-mortems to always improve.
You have:
- PhD/MSc in computer science / physics / mathematics / engineering / neuroscience.
- 5-10 years academic or industry experience in signal processing + real-time AI/ML.
- Domain specific knowledge of either brain-computer interface technology, speech recognition, computer vision, biometrics, or time-series analysis.
- Track record of exemplary scientific or engineering achievements and publications.
- Love of leading teams working on hard problems in machine-learning, AI, modeling.
- Experience with frameworks such as TensorFlow, MLlib, Caffe, Torch, or Theano, and hands-on coding competence in Python or other modern language.
- Experience with transfer learning, deep learning, autoencoders, reinforcement learning, wavelet analysis, adaptive filtering, and classifier ensembles.
- Practical experience hiring and managing teammates in building reliable, high performance machine-learning systems including experience writing and managing production code according to best practices.
- Knowledge of brain activity measurement technologies.
