Position Summary

Reporting to the Engineering Director the Hardware Manager will be responsible for overseeing the design, development, and production of hardware systems. This includes managing a team of Electronic/Mechanical engineerss, and collaborating with other departments such as Software Engineering, Quality assurance, Production & Supply Chain, Product management, among others. You will work at the forefront of applied neuroscience in a medical device company focusing on bringing new technologies to bear on real-world clinical applications. 

 

What Will You Do

Some of our most intense areas of work:

  • Leading hardware development projects from conception to completion
  • Clinically ready wireless EEG and multichannel transcranial brain stimulation
  • Biomarkers for neurodegenerative disease diagnosis and prognosis
  • Closed-loop neuro-stimulation
  • Support the development of innovative non-invasive products to study and modulate human electrical brain activity
  • Managing the hardware team and ensuring project goals are met on time and within budget
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure hardware designs meet product requirements
  • Overseeing the design, development, testing, and production of hardware products
  • Conducting risk assessments and developing mitigation strategies for potential hardware failures
  • Developing and maintaining hardware development processes and standards
  • Identifying and resolving hardware-related issues during development and production
  • Staying up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies in hardware development

 

What Do You Need

Must – have
  • Electrical/Electronics/Industrial/Telecommunications/Biomedical Engineer (MSc preferred)
  • At least 5 years of experience in analog and digital hardware design, testing, documentation, and validation, according to quality procedures, ideally for medical devices (ISO13485 or similar).
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical and software engineering disciplines
  • Strong understanding of hardware design principles, testing methodologies, and production processes
  • Familiarity with Design Controls and Risk Management for medical devices
  • Knowledge of fabrication and assembly of electromechanical devices
  • Experience with CAE/CAD, requirements management, and simulation/modeling tools
  • Medical device regulation basic knowledge
  • Advanced English language skills in reading, writing, and speaking
 
Bonus points
  • Experience in design for compliance with international standards (IEC 60601 family desirable)
  • Bio-measurement circuit design a plus
