PhD in Neuroscience for Research and Development Projects

Job Description:

We are looking for a Neuroscience PhD for Research and Development to join our team at AAVAA as early as May 2023. AAVAA is a deep technology start-up based in Montreal, developing a cutting-edge wearable device that detects and interprets brain and bio-signals. AAVAA’s goal is to give people control of their auditory environment, enhance the sounds they want to hear, and suppress distracting noise. We are currently developing and expanding our operations, and are looking for someone to help support our growing team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Grant and application writing
• Work closely with management to develop project budgets and workplans
• Managing lab and material resources
• Screen for relevant grant applications and maintain an updated database of deadlines
• Participant testing
• Communicating through email and phone with candidates
• Updating our website and other marketing material

Key Qualifications:

• PhD or Master’s Degree in relevant fields
• Excellent communication & writing skills (English)
• Experience with grant writing and reporting, patent writing, or other technical writing
• Knowledge/experience in accounting, human resources, and corporate governance for a secretary role
• Motivated, excited to learn, ability to work autonomously in a dynamic team

Above and Beyond:

• Degree in or experience with neuroscience, psychology, or related field
• Experience with Python, Matlab, etc.
