Job Description:

As a Neuroengineer Research Scientist, you will play a critical role in advancing the development of medical devices for neurological disorders at the NeuroTech Institute by working directly with the Institute CEO. You will be responsible for designing, executing and analyzing experiments that contribute to the refinement and validation of novel medical device technologies and therapies. Your work will directly impact the lives of individuals suffering from neurological disorders by improving the available treatments for these conditions.

Specifically, you will:

  • Utilize your expertise in neuroengineering to conceptualize and design scientific experiments in preclinical (animal) models and first-in-human trials.
  • Independently execute experiments using state of the art neurophysiological methods to ensure high-quality, reproducible data.
  • Employ advanced statistical methods and signal processing techniques to draw meaningful insights and conclusions, as well as develop algorithms  and models to extract relevant data from complex datasets.
  • Maintain records and prepare scientific publications and research proposals,
  • Collaborate with an extensive cross-functional team of clinicals, scientists, engineers and entrepreneurs.
  • Contribute to innovation of novel devices and techniques by staying abreast of the latest advancements and methods in the field.

 

Minimum Education Required

  • Doctorate (Research) or equivalent combination of education and experience with a Major in neuroscience, neuroengineering, or biomedical engineering

 

Required Qualifications

  • Doctorate degree in Neuroscience, Neuroengineering, Bioengineering or related field; Extensive experience with applied scientific methods, translational research, preclinical animal models, human subjects research, scientific writing, data analytics and signal processing techniques, proposal development, and mentorship/supervision of laboratory staff and trainees.
  • Outstanding oral communication and interpersonal skills required.
  • Requires successful completion of a background check.
  • Selected candidate may be requested to complete a pre-employment physical including a drug screen.

The Target Salary Range: $95,000-$110,000
