Job Description
This position is an exciting and new opportunity to work with Medtronic’s Patient Monitoring, Respiratory Interventions and/or MCMS businesses. Currently part of Medtronic, Medtronic has announced its intention to transition these businesses either into a new stand-alone company (currently referred to as NewCo) or merge them into the business of another company. While you will start your employment with Medtronic, upon establishment of NewCo or upon the transition of the business unit to another company, which may occur in approximately 12-15 months, your employment may transfer to one of these entities.
The business will have the same singular focus, financial commitment, deep domain expertise, and global footprint needed to accelerate the development and commercialization of affordable and scalable healthcare technologies.
Description
Responsible for overseeing a team of Engineers in the completion of engineering projects. Manages large team which would typically consist of both experienced professionals and managers. Turns the department strategy into a commercial reality by developing, communicating and implementing business plans to achieve business results . Receives assignments in objective oriented terms; has latitude to reinterpret objectives. Initiates programs or projects based on identified business and / or tactical needs. Decisions impact projects or operations, affect the deadlines, resources, and funds, and the achievement of organizational objectives. has budget or P&L accountability for a department.
Responsibilities
- Plans, directs and implements all aspects of the company’s design and development of new medical device products or software systems.
- May develop, evaluate, implement and maintain technical quality assurance and control systems or reliability systems and standards
- pertaining to materials, techniques, or company products.
- Oversees the investigation and evaluation of existing technologies.
- Guides the conceptualization of new methodologies, materials, machines, processes or products.
- Directs the development of new concepts from initial design to market release.
- Manages feasibility studies of the design to determine if capable of functioning as intended.
- Monitors documentation maintenance throughout all phases of research and development.
- Organizes the coordination of activities with outside suppliers and consultants to ensure timely delivery.
- Selects, develops and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.
Must Have: Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor degree: Industrial Engineering or related.
- Minimum 5 year of managerial experience
- Full Bilingual (English and Spanish)
- Strong Leadership skills
- High Performer and Result Oriented
- Attention to details, Math skills, including calculus and other advanced mathematics for developing new processes and products.
- Organizational skills for keeping track of various budgets, employees and schedules simultaneously.
