Role Description:
Responsible for providing solutions on tooling, equipment, and processes by which NeuroLogica can improve its position as a high-quality manufacturer of medical imaging devices, especially regarding but not exclusive to electrical components, subsystems, and finished devices, while working closely with cross-functional teams.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned
- Provide DFT, DFM, and diagnostic input during product development
- Capture and document processes as baselines and to initiate improvements
- Specify and assemble required test equipment and fixturing
- Write detailed test plans, specifications, verification procedures, and reports
- Generate Engineering Change Orders (ECO) and update Bills of Material (BOM) using PLM software (Arena)
- Utilize knowledge of circuit design, schematics, and PCB layout to determine suitable replacement components for end-of-life situations
- Conduct design reviews and critique other engineers designs
- Troubleshoot and identify causes of operational problems then initiate and implement modifications or configuration changes associated with corrective action
- Utilize failure analysis data to improve test strategies and processes
- Define capital equipment requirements for a given project
- Interface with other Manufacturing Engineers in establishing parts and material flow concepts within the manufacturing facility
- Work individually with minimal supervision and as part of a team of engineers
Education & Experience
- BS in Electrical Engineering required and 5+ years of experience in related field preferred
- Experience with test hardware design and development including verification and IQ/OQ/PQ
- Experience in analog and digital circuits, power, and developing test software
- Experience or knowledge working in a manufacturing environment
- Working knowledge of PCB design/fabrication/assembly, analog/digital, and power circuit design preferred
- Strong verbal and written communication skills including the ability to write design documents and test plans
- ISO, FDA and CMDR Awareness training
- Must be able to assemble facts from various areas, analyze data, and provide informed recommendations to management
- Must be able to work with minimal supervision, take charge of projects, and work effectively in a demanding, fast paced environment
- Customer focused with exceptional problem solving skills
Computer & Analytical Skills
- Proficiency or familiarity in circuit design, schematics (use of OrCAD), and PCB layout tools (use of PADS)
- Experience developing test software
- Experience with LabVIEW or similar software programming
- SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or other 3D modeling tools is a plus
- Arena PLM system knowledge is a plus
- You must be excellent with technology, be able to present using a laptop computer, and be able demonstrate proficiency with MS Office package, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Physical Requirements
- Occasionally lift and /or move up to 25 pounds
- Frequently required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands; and talk or hear
- Must be able to sit for long periods of time
- The noise level in the work environment is usually mild
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision, Distance vision, Peripheral vision, Depth perception and Ability to adjust focus
- Interaction with x-ray devices; for this reason strict safety and tracking programs are in place, requiring the utilization of dose monitoring equipment either full time or as necessitated by situation
