Job Summary and Primary Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for development activities within existing and new project lines
  • Learn and execute on designs and mechanical testing of complex orthopedic devices for portions of the development cycle
  • Execute on verification activities to ensure proper design and use
  • Document development activities in a report format
  • Collaboration with team and across functions such as Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, and Regulatory

 

Required Skills / Capabilities

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • In pursuit of Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
  • Must be currently enrolled in school with a successful completion of 2 years of undergraduate studies (minimum of 60 credit hours towards Bachelor’s degree)
  • Must have a minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Ability to provide college transcripts as well as a letter of recommendation from a faculty member
  • Candidates are responsible for their own housing and transportation during the internship
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States
  • Practical experience with CAD (computer aided design) software including modeling, drawings, and assemblies
  • Knowledge of simple mechanisms and completion of mechanical related courses such as Physics, Statics and Dynamics, and related courses

 

Education and Experience

  • Practical experience with Solidworks
  • Experience with mechanical testing and data analysis
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing processes (plastic and/or metal)

 

Salary Range: $35,250 – $58,750
