Supply Chain Engineer

Neurosoft Bioelectronics is a neurotech startup focused on building implantable electrodes to interface with the human brain. We work in a state-of-the-art cleanroom environment and are looking for a Supply Chain Engineer to join our dedicated team.

 

The Supply Chain Engineer will play an essential role in maintaining our supply chain processes and fostering strong relationships with suppliers and subcontractors. The role includes key responsibilities, such as managing and maintaining inventory, qualifying and evaluating suppliers, ensuring compliance with internal quality procedures and regulations, and managing subcontracted manufacturing activities. The Supply Chain Engineer will work closely with the Manufacturing Manager (MAM), ensuring our supply chain operations align with our business objectives and meet regulatory standards.

 

Tasks

  • Maintain supply chain processes in alignment with the organization’s Quality Management System
  • Develop and manage relationships with suppliers and subcontractors, ensuring reliable, cost-effective, and timely delivery of materials and services.
  • Lead and oversee subcontracted manufacturing activities, ensuring adherence to quality, quantity, and delivery standards.
  • Manage technical follow-up for outsourced services and manufacturing steps
  • Select, evaluate, audit, and qualify suppliers, ensuring they meet our standards and requirements, in collaboration with the Quality Manager (QAM) and MAM.
  • Implement and monitor supply chain KPIs to evaluate performance and efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with purchasing and goods-in inspection procedures.
  • Assist in negotiations with supplier and subcontractor contracts.
  • Evaluate subcontractors, preparing relevant documents and agreements in collaboration with the QAM.
  • Responsible for purchasing and goods-in inspection of consumables, parts, materials, and subcontracted services.
  • Responsible for tracking inventory of materials and tools, ensuring adequate stock for production, and forecast material demands and manage procurement to maintain inventory balance.

 

Requirements

Education and experience:

  • Bachelor and/or Master degree in engineering domain or equivalent
  • MBA or relevant certification (e.g., CSCP or CPIM) is an asset
  • At least 2 years experience in a supply chain, procurement, or related role in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the medical device or biotech industry.
  • Experience in an ISO 13485 environment is an asset
  • Knowledge of EU requirements relative to the development and production of implantable medical devices (e.g. EN ISO 13485:2016, Medical Device Regulation 2017/745) and/or US requirements (e.g. 21 CFR 820) is an asset.
  • Fluent in French and English (written and spoken). German is an asset

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Good knowledge of quality systems, quality assurance techniques, and regulatory standards (including ISO 13485 and FDA 21 CFR Part, 820) is an asset
  • Attention to detail and precision in work
  • Proficiency in documenting all work reliably and accurately as per QMS standards.
