The laboratory of Suzy Scherf (Laboratory of Developmental Neuroscience: https://www.suzyscherf.com/) at the Pennsylvania State University invites applications for a Postdoctoral Scholar position.
This position is supported by a NIMH-funded grant investigating the influence of pubertal development on social information processing and functional brain development. We employ functional (fMRI) and structural (sMRI) magnetic resonance, together with detailed behavioral paradigms in typically developing children, adolescents, and emerging adults. We use univariate, pattern analytic, and effective connectivity strategies in addressing questions about functional changes in the organization of neural network organization.
- The ideal candidate will have a Ph.D. in developmental or cognitive neuroscience, or a related field;
- previous experience with fMRI research; excellent programming (e.g., Matlab) and quantitative skills; and a publication record.
- Experience with child and adolescent participants is a plus, but not required.
In addition, successful candidates must either have demonstrated a commitment to building an inclusive, equitable, and diverse campus community, or describe one or more ways they would envision doing so, given the opportunity.
This is an excellent position for the Postdoctoral Scholar to gain expertise in developmental neuroscience and work in a supportive lab environment that prioritizes professional development, including publications and grant-writing experience (see https://www.suzyscherf.com/).
