Description

The Department of Psychiatry at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for a Research Associate position in the Academic Support Staff. This appointment will be initially for one (1) year and continuation during that time period and renewal are based on satisfactory performance and availability of funding (limited to three (3) years). Applicants must have an M.D. and/or Ph.D degree.

 

Responsibilities may include a mastery of behavioral, physiological, surgical and neuroendocrine techniques essential to the examination of neuropeptide action across various nuclei of the brain in the regulation of energy balance. These skills should accompany expertise in other aspects of the systems neuroscience of ingestive behavior, including but not limited to imaging, snRNAseq analyses, and detailed pharmacological expertise.

The successful applicant will have an opportunity to conduct behavioral neuroscience research centered on motivation, energy balance, affect arousal, as well as learning and memory using rodent models.
